The Gallery Dept. Insomnia Short is a heavyweight cotton jersey short with a defining characteristic: hand-applied paint splatter, executed by artisans at the brand's Los Angeles studio. Because each garment is treated individually, every pair carries its own unique arrangement of paint — a fundamental expression of Gallery Dept.'s approach to garment-as-art-object.

The cotton is a dense natural jersey selected for its weight and breathability as a working canvas for the paint. A roomy silhouette is shortened manually with sliced, raw-cut hems landing above the knee. An exposed elastic waistband with a hidden internal drawcord, twin deep-set pockets, and the GD ENGLISH logotype on the right leg complete the specification. Each pair is one of a kind.
